This was my first ever attempt to do a burst about 10-12 years ago when I was first starting to build guitars. It was an ambitious project for someone so new to building. The Warmoth body is hollow, with a number of small chambers inside the mahogany back to both lighten and to warm up tone (or so they say). It certainly is light, at around 4lbs. The shape was pretty much standard, but I did some modifications to the back for comfort reasons. All the outside edges are rounded over, creating a somewhat arched back. The neck heel is trimmed to allow getting into the upper neck registers a little more easily. You may or may not be able to tell, but the binding showing is a natural maple edge, not bursted, to resemble actual binding. The pictures aren't that impressive yet. Keep clicking through a few, the view gets awesome. Lastly, a tummy tuck, which you'll see in the next shots. At the time, I had gotten to the point you see in this shot and was not satisfied with the results for some reason. It got put in a drawer and then later hung on my living room wall as decoration.
