Base VI (pronounced Base Six) We are now able to produce the Six in quantity. A French luthier, who specializes in offset guitars, has been able to reproduce the hardware in extremely good quality. Our Sixes are based on the Fender Bass VI neck and body shapes. I buy the bodies (as well as necks), from USA Custom Guitars in two varieties: Generation 1 which uses Strat type pickups mounted in pickup surrounds which are in turn mounted on the pickguard, and a 3 switch control plate. Due to non availability of the pickup surrounds at this point, we make it with Strat style pickup mounting. Generation 2 Sixes use Jaguar type pickups and a 4 switch control plate with a "strangle" or choke switch. USA Custom Guitars currently only produces a Generation 1 style bodies. So,to get a Generation 2, I have to have them not rout any of the cavities or controls and do it myself.
