She not only loved horses; she had an unusual passion for them. Most of her time was spent at the stables nearby. She loved to ride, took lessons and became very knowledgeable about the care and grooming. She has a great collection of horse pictures that she took.

Favorite Book: National Velvet by Enid Bagnold and Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawrence

Kathie was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was a researcher, wanted to know detail information about the things that interest her. She loved to help her friends get over the things that were bothering them. She cared for people and her beloved horses. I remember, when she was 10 or 12 years old, she wrote to President Reagan about the killing of wild horses. He responded to her letter. Kathie was an artist; she had a natural talent for drawing. I have a few of her drawings framed. She is missed and never forgotten.
